Job summary

Microchip Technology Inc. is seeking a Senior Engineer I-Test to join our team in Austin, TX or Chandler, AZ. You will develop test programs for SyncE/1588 timing and frequency synthesizers, review specifications, and collaborate with multiple teams to bring products from specification to volume production.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience with ATE testing of ICs, strong knowledge of semiconductors and circuit theory, and excellent communication skills to work across locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
• 5+ years of experience developing ATE test programs for ICs.
• Experience with ATE systems and semiconductors.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

The Timing and Communication Product Group (TCG) is seeking a self-motivated test engineer to develop test programs and assist in test development for product releases of SyncE/1588 timing, Clock Distribution and Frequency Synthesizers. The successful candidate will participate in all aspects of product and test development, from initial specification through volume manufacturing. **Responsibilities:*** Generating test programs for timing-based products* Define and develop high speed low noise ATE test boards* Review new product specifications, advise design teams on product manufacturability for timing-based products* Work with applications, marketing, product and reliability groups, for the release of new products, monitoring goals and schedules* Establish manufacturing guard-bands based on repeatability and characterization data* Support customer sampling and offshore volume production ramps* Support ongoing subcontractor test activity* Product cost reduction, yield improvement, and test capacity maximization* Analysis of Customer returned devices and supporting Customer requirements* Characterize and evaluate new products**Requirements/Qualifications:*** Bachelor's/Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science with 5+ years of experience developing ATE test programs for integrated circuits* Extensive knowledge of semiconductors, statistics, analog and digital circuit theory and circuit analysis, and semiconductor IC testing* Must have experience with ATE systems* Self-motivated and able to work independently* Excellent communication and presentation skills* Ability to excel in a multi-disciplinary team environment across multiple locations* Strong analytical, and problem-solving skills**Preferred Qualifications:*** ATE programming using Advantest Smartest and Cohu Unison programming environments**Travel Time:**0% - 25%**Physical Attributes:**Bending at Waist, Feeling, Hearing, Lifting, Pushing, Seeing, Talking, Works Around Others**Physical Requirements:**Standing 10%, Walking 10%, Sitting 80%, Inside 100%, M-F 8AM - 5PMMicrochip Technology Inc is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
