Job summary

Microchip Technology Inc. seeks a Senior Engineer I-Test to join the Timing and Communication Product Group (TCG) in Austin, TX or Chandler, AZ. You will develop test programs and help execute test development for SyncE/1588 timing, Clock Distribution and Frequency Synthesizers.

The role covers the full life cycle from initial specification through volume manufacturing, collaborating with applications, marketing, product and reliability teams to meet release schedules and performance goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s in Computer/ Electrical Engineering or Computer Science with 5+ years in ATE test programming.
• Extensive knowledge of semiconductors, statistics, analog and digital circuit theory and IC testing.
• Must have experience with ATE systems.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to excel in a multi-disciplinary team environment across multiple locations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Job Description

Microchip Technology Inc. has a Senior Engineer I-Test opening based in our Austin, TX or Chandler, AZ office. The Timing and Communication Product Group (TCG) is seeking a self-motivated test engineer to develop test programs and assist in test development for product releases of SyncE/1588 timing, Clock Distribution and Frequency Synthesizers. The successful candidate will participate in all aspects of product and test development, from initial specification through volume manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Generating test programs for timing-based products
• Define and develop high speed low noise ATE test boards
• Review new product specifications, advise design teams on product manufacturability for timing-based products
• Work with applications, marketing, product and reliability groups, for the release of new products, monitoring goals and schedules
• Establish manufacturing guard-bands based on repeatability and characterization data
• Support customer sampling and offshore volume production ramps
• Support ongoing subcontractor test activity
• Product cost reduction, yield improvement, and test capacity maximization
• Analysis of Customer returned devices and supporting Customer requirements
• Characterize and evaluate new products

Requirements/Qualifications

• Bachelor's/Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science with 5+ years of experience developing ATE test programs for integrated circuits
• Extensive knowledge of semiconductors, statistics, analog and digital circuit theory and circuit analysis, and semiconductor IC testing
• Must have experience with ATE systems
• Self-motivated and able to work independently
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Ability to excel in a multi-disciplinary team environment across multiple locations
• Strong analytical, and problem-solving skills

• ATE programming using Advantest Smartest and Cohu Unison programming environments
