Job summary

Microchip Technology Inc. is seeking a Senior Engineer I-Test to join our Timing and Communication Product Group in Chandler, AZ, developing test programs for SyncE/1588 timing, Clock Distribution, and Frequency Synthesizers.

You will participate in product and test development from spec to volume manufacturing. The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of ATE programming for ICs, strong semiconductor knowledge, and proven ability to work across multiple teams and locations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in ATE test-program development for integrated circuits
• Knowledge of semiconductors, statistics, analog and digital circuit theory and semiconductor IC testing
• Experience with ATE systems
• Self-motivated and able to work independently
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Ability to excel in a multi-location team environment
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Preferred: Advantest Smartest and Cohu Unison programming environments

Responsibilities

• Generating test programs for timing-based products
• Define and develop high speed low noise ATE test boards
• Review new product specifications, advise design teams on product manufacturability for timing-based products
• Work with applications, marketing, product and reliability groups for the release of new products, monitoring goals and schedules
• Establish manufacturing guard-bands based on repeatability and characterization data
• Support customer sampling and offshore volume production ramps
• Support ongoing subcontractor test activity
• Product cost reduction, yield improvement, and test capacity maximization
• Analysis of Customer returned devices and supporting Customer requirements
• Characterize and evaluate new products

Job Description

Microchip Technology Inc. has a Senior Engineer I-Test opening based in our Austin, TX or Chandler, AZ office. The Timing and Communication Product Group (TCG) is seeking a self-motivated test engineer to develop test programs and assist in test development for product releases of SyncE/1588 timing, Clock Distribution and Frequency Synthesizers. The successful candidate will participate in all aspects of product and test development, from initial specification through volume manufacturing.

Responsibilities

Requirements/Qualifications

• Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science with 5+ years of experience developing ATE test programs for integrated circuits
• Extensive knowledge of semiconductors, statistics, analog and digital circuit theory and circuit analysis, and semiconductor IC testing
• Must have experience with ATE systems
• Self-motivated and able to work independently
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Ability to excel in a multi-disciplinary team environment across multiple locations
• Strong analytical, and problem-solving skills

• ATE programming using Advantest Smartest and Cohu Unison programming environments
