Job summary

Microchip Technology Inc. is seeking a Senior Engineer II - Applications to provide technical support for Ethernet PHY and switch product lines.

The successful candidate will assist Field Sales engineers and customers during development and create collateral to improve the user experience. You will identify gaps in enablement materials, translate needs into high-level requirements for development teams, and develop technical training such as webinars and hands-on workshops for customers, sales,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field with 7.5+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of C, C++, Python and other embedded languages.
• Linux operating systems and build processes knowledge.
• Experience in customer support and enablement.
• Experience in technical training development and presentation.
• Knowledge of Ethernet protocols and networking concepts.
• Familiarity with embedded processor development flow and Lab equipment.

Responsibilities

• Answer questions from Field Sales engineers and customers during development.
• Create collateral to improve user experience (Application Notes, Knowledgebase, Users Guides, sample code).
• Identify gaps in enablement material and set goals to address them.
• Provide high-level requirements to development teams to improve product development.

The successful candidate will provide technical support for Microchip’s Ethernet PHY and switch product lines. The Applications Engineer will drive customer success using Microchip products in the following areas:* Answering questions from Field Sales engineers and customers during the development process.* Creating collateral that improves the user experience for the user. This includes: + Application Notes + Knowledgebase Articles + Users Guides + Example Code* Identifying gaps in the current enablement material, and proactively setting goals to address the gaps observed while supporting customers.* Creating high level requirements to the development teams that can improve the customer experience with new product development.* Develop and present technical training such as webinars and hands-on workshops to customers, sales and field application engineers**Requirements/Qualifications:*** Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related fields with least 7.5 years of relevant experience* Strong knowledge of various programming languages, including C, C++, Python and other embedded languages.* Knowledge of Linux operating systems and the building process.* Strong experience in customer support and customer enablement.* Experience in technical training development and presentation.* Knowledge of embedded processor development flow and ecosystems.* Knowledge of Ethernet communication protocols, including TCP/IP and UDP* Knowledge of networking and network management concepts and applications.* Working knowledge of hardware/software debug and Lab equipment, e.g., Oscilloscope, Logic Analyzer, Protocol Analyzer (any protocol)**Travel Time:**0% - 25%**Physical Attributes:**Feeling, Handling, Hearing, Seeing, Talking, Works Alone, Works Around Others**Physical Requirements:**80% sitting, 10% walking, 10% standingMicrochip Technology Inc is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
