Job summary

Shield AI seeks an Engineer II or Senior Engineer to join the Human Machine Teaming group. You will conduct field research with pilots and operators, translating findings into requirements for design and experimentation.

Responsibilities include front-end analyses, creating mission threads, and supporting readiness assessments across product lines. Travel to company, test, and customer locations is approximately 40%.

Qualifications

• Experience planning and executing field studies with human participants and reporting findings to engineering and operator audiences.
• Knowledge of human machine teaming, human factors, training theory and measurement.
• Willingness to work in operational environments such as flight lines and customer sites without disrupting missions.
• Strong teamwork and written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct field research using ethnographic methods with customers, operators, and pilots.
• Perform front-end human factors analyses to decompose collaborative work in real operations.
• Produce mission threads and context-sensitive baselines for design and experimentation.
• Translate operator needs into collaborative work requirement profiles with other HMT staff.
• Support field testing and readiness exercises with fielded systems in real tempo.
