Job summary

Shield AI's Human Machine Teaming Group seeks Engineer II or Senior Engineer to join HMT Experimentation capability. You will help design, manage, and assess adaptive relationships between operators and Hivemind-enabled mission autonomy.

Working with the HMT Experimentation Lead, you will establish the HMT Experimentation Lab, run applied R&D, test collaboration profiles, and evaluate robustness to determine where teaming works or degrades, driving impact across programs.

Qualifications

• Degree in human factors, psychology, cognitive systems engineering, or related field.
• Experience with human-machine teaming, and performance measurement concepts.
• Strong design of experiments and data analysis skills.
• Ability to translate results into actionable design recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Design and run HMT experiments to test collaborative work profiles.
• Conduct robustness testing under varied conditions (communications, data, workload).
• Characterize context sensitivity across environments and operator groups.
• Translate findings into prioritized recommendations for development leads.
