Job summary

Shield AI is seeking an Engineer II or Senior Engineer to advance human-machine teaming design for autonomous mission systems. You will translate operator-autonomy relationships into scalable design patterns, codify requirements, and ensure traceability from concept to testing.

Travel ~20% to test and customer sites is expected. You will collaborate with HMI/UX teams, apply cognitive and human factors theory, and drive standardized workflows that improve collaboration across operators and

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field.
Experience translating operational HMT experimentation into design guidance and system requirements.
Working knowledge of human machine teaming, human factors, and human performance theory.
Experience with quasi-/experimental design and statistical analyses.
Ability to work in complex, ambiguous spaces and produce clear artifacts.
Strong teamwork and written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Build and maintain baseline collaborative work requirement profiles for core functions.
Define requirements profiles by operator-autonomy relationships and document risks.
Classify interdependencies and map requirements to system and feature requests.
Evolve a repeatable HMT workflow, standards, and review criteria.
Collaborate with HMI/UX designers to turn profiles into design guidance and review interfaces.
Present designs with rationale to audiences and support test/acceptance documentation.
