Shield AI's Human Machine Teaming (HMT) Group seeks an Engineer II or Senior Engineer to help establish the HMT Experimentation Lab and drive applied R&D for mission autonomy. You will test collaborative work requirement profiles, run robustness tests, and develop quantitative/qualitative performance measures.

The role involves designing experiments, analyzing human-machine data, and translating results into actionable recommendations for development leads.

Qualifications

• Requires degree related to human factors, psychology, or cognitive science.
• Experience with human-machine teaming and performance measurement.
• Proficiency in quasi-/experimental design and statistical analyses.

Responsibilities

• Design and run HMT experiments to test collaborative profiles under varied conditions.
• Conduct robustness testing of communications, sensor data, and autonomy behavior.
• Define measures of performance and build assessment batteries for operator workload and trust.
• Translate findings into prioritized recommendations and design changes.
