Job summary

Exelon is seeking a Senior Engineer to provide technical leadership across planning, design and execution of electric/gas distribution, transmission, and substations. You will mentor junior engineers and drive safety, reliability, and compliance in major grid projects.

The role requires overseeing complex studies, budgeting, schedules, and cross-functional collaboration, with potential extended hours during storms or energy emergencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or PE license required.
• 7+ years of professional engineering experience.
• Ability to analyze and interpret complex electrical and mechanical systems.
• Knowledge of applicable standards, codes, methods, and practices.
• Advanced degrees or PE license can reduce required experience.
• Mastery in applying engineering principles to resolve complex issues.

Responsibilities

• Leads and performs assignments in specialized engineering areas with extensive expertise.
• Oversees engineering tasks on complex projects and may include field testing and peer review.
• Evaluates technical issues and recommends actions for resolution with documentation.
• Manages projects with significant financial and operational impact; plans commissioning efforts.
• Provides technical training and mentorship to team members.
• Participates in department planning, budgeting, and performance monitoring.
• Engages in industry committees to stay current with technology trends.
