Job summary

RTX is seeking a qualified engineer for an on-site role in East Hartford, CT, focused on engine control systems and model-based methods. The position requires DoD Secret clearance and offers engagement across aerospace engine programs.

You will develop model predictive control, FDIA algorithms, and engine models, collaborating with internal stakeholders to advance control law software verification and validation throughout the life cycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
• 5 years of engineering experience or 3 years with an advanced degree
• MS degree preferred in STEM or related field

Responsibilities

• Plan and develop model predictive control and parameter estimation algorithms for military and commercial engine programs
• Develop engine, actuation, and fuel system dynamic models and apply these models for development of functional requirements for control law algorithms, fuel system and actuation dynamics
• Develop model-based sensor and actuator fault detection, isolation, and accommodation (FDIA) algorithms
• Collaborate with internal customers/stakeholders to identify opportunities for control law product and process improvements
• Participate in improving process and standards for development, validation, and verification of engine control laws, fuel system control laws, and FDIA algorithms
• Lead root cause determination and corrective action throughout product life cycle from concept to testing and in-service operation
