Job summary

RTX is a leading aerospace and defense company focused on advanced engines and propulsion systems. This role develops model predictive control and parameter estimation for military and commercial engines, and creates robust models for control and fuel system dynamics.

You will collaborate across teams to advance control law products, improve verification processes, and lead root-cause analyses for complex algorithm issues throughout the product life cycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
• 5 years of engineering experience or 3 years with an advanced degree.
• Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret security clearance (citizenship required).

Responsibilities

• Plan and develop model predictive control and parameter estimation algorithms for military and commercial engine programs.
• Develop engine, actuation, and fuel system dynamic models and apply these models for development of functional requirements for control law algorithms, fuel system and actuation dynamics.
• Develop model-based sensor and actuator fault detection, isolation, and accommodation (FDIA) algorithms.
• Collaborate with internal customers/stakeholders to identify opportunities for control law product and process improvements.
• Participating in improving process and standards for development, validation, and verification of engine control laws, fuel system control laws, and FDIA algorithms.
• For emerging algorithm issues, lead root cause determination and corrective action throughout entire product life cycle from initial concept phases, through engine testing and in-service operation.
