Job summary

Oracle in Nashville, TN seeks a Senior Member of Technical Staff to help build Lightweight Infrastructure (LWI)—the next‑generation runtime and platform layer for compute, storage, networking, identity, observability, and governance within Autonomous OCI.

The role emphasizes designing scalable distributed systems, reliability, and security; requires strong backend language skills and 3–5+ years of experience in Java/Go/Rust/C/C++ or Python; cloud infrastructure experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• 3–5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong programming skills in at least one systems or backend language (Java/Go/Rust/C/C++/Python). Rust is a strong plus for compute roles.
• Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, OS, networking, concurrency, and distributed systems.
• Experience or strong interest in cloud infrastructure, Linux systems, containers, storage, networking, security, schedulers, control planes, or management planes.

Responsibilities

• Designs, implements, and optimizes components in distributed systems for scalability and operability.
• Build fault-tolerant paths with redundancy, replication, and automatic failover.
• Develop automation/IaC for troubleshooting and maintenance and runbooks for incident response.
• Implement tests, alarms, dashboards, telemetry, and change controls to ensure reliability and compliance.
