Job summary

Oracle is seeking a Senior Member of Technical Staff to advance Lightweight Infrastructure for Autonomous OCI. You will design and build scalable, secure distributed systems across compute, storage, and networking, driving reliability and performance in a large cloud platform.

You will work with a strong team to implement automation, IaC, and fault-tolerant mechanisms, while collaborating across teams to deliver resilient services.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3–5+ years of software engineering experience building reliable services, infrastructure, or distributed systems.
• Strong programming skills in at least one systems or backend language such as Java, Go, Rust, C/C++, or Python.
• Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, operating systems, networking, concurrency, and distributed-systems fundamentals.
• Experience or strong interest in cloud infrastructure, virtualization, Linux systems, containers, storage, networking, security, schedulers, control planes, or management planes.
• Ability to design, build, test, and debug reliable software in a large, evolving codebase.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with an ownership-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

• Designs, implements, and optimizes components in distributed systems with a focus on scalability and operability.
• Builds fault-tolerant paths with redundancy, replication, and automatic failover.
• Develops automation/IaC for troubleshooting and maintenance.
• Authors runbooks and participates in incident response and RCAs.
• Implements security controls while ensuring change, compliance and documentation standards.
