Job summary

The Senior Engineer, Building Optimization Team (BOT) within the Division of Energy Management (DEM) at the City of New York leads technical building optimization projects, guiding delivery from planning through closeout. You will analyze designs, validate scopes and costs, and provide ad hoc technical support to agencies and the central DEM team.

You will monitor energy savings, greenhouse gas reductions, and cost outcomes, while coordinating with city partners to expand a city-wide program

Responsibilities

• Lead management of a portfolio of highly technical projects at City facilities, including budgeting, scoping, oversight, inspections, and closeout.
• Provide technical expertise on designs, scope/costs, inspections, energy savings calculators, and ad hoc support to City agencies and DEM.
• Monitor, report, and maintain project-level metrics for energy conservation measures (ECMs), operations and maintenance measures (OMMs), energy, GHG and cost savings, plus measurement & verification work.
• Facilitate routine correspondence with City agencies to drive project management and set clear expectations for relevant work.
• Support expansion of a City-wide building optimization program using preventative maintenance and advanced analytics to automate controls and improve efficiency.
