Job summary

Tenth Revolution Group is seeking an experienced NDT Level III Senior Engineer I to lead nondestructive testing operations in a regulated aerospace manufacturing setting. You will act as the technical authority for NDT, develop procedures, certify personnel, and drive audits and continuous improvement across NDT processes.

You will collaborate with quality, engineering, metallurgical, and production teams, mentoring technicians on UT and ET methods, while maintaining records and ensuring

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, materials science, physics, or related field with 7+ years NDT experience.
• Current or prior NDT Level III UT certification per SNT-TC-1A / NAS 410 or equivalent.
• Experience administering NDT programs and certification management.
• Experience with aerospace quality standards, audits, and customer specifications.
• Strong communication and technical documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the site's NDT Level III authority, interpreting requirements.
• Develop, revise, maintain NDT procedures and work instructions.
• Administer NDT Personnel Qualification and Certification Program.
• Provide technical guidance and training to NDT technicians.
• Lead audits related to NDT operations (AS9100, Nadcap, internal).
• Interface with customers, auditors, regulators on NDT compliance.
• Support implementation of new NDT equipment and inspection methods.
• Drive process improvements using SPC and root cause analysis.
• Collaborate with quality, engineering, and metallurgical teams.
• Maintain NDT records, certifications, calibrations, maintenance, and compliance reports.
• Evaluate external lab certifications and approve third-party testing documentation.
• Spend significant time on the manufacturing floor assisting technicians.

About the Opportunity

A leading global manufacturer of high-performance specialty metals is seeking an experienced NDT Level III - Senior Engineer I to provide technical leadership for nondestructive testing (NDT) operations within a highly regulated aerospace manufacturing environment.

This role serves as the site's primary NDT technical authority, responsible for procedure development, personnel qualification and certification, audit leadership, process improvement initiatives, customer interactions, and day-to-day support of production NDT operations. The position offers a unique combination of engineering, quality, compliance, and hands‑on manufacturing support responsibilities.

The successful candidate will work closely with quality, metallurgical, engineering, and production teams to ensure compliance with customer specifications and industry standards while driving continuous improvement across NDT processes and systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the site's NDT Level III authority, reviewing and interpreting customer, industry, and internal NDT requirements.
• Develop, revise, and maintain NDT procedures and work instructions.
• Administer the NDT Personnel Qualification and Certification Program.
• Provide technical guidance, troubleshooting, and training to NDT technicians and inspectors.
• Lead customer, AS9100, Nadcap, and internal audits related to NDT operations.
• Interface directly with customers, auditors, and regulatory bodies regarding NDT compliance and technical requirements.
• Support implementation of new NDT equipment, technologies, and inspection methods.
• Drive process improvements utilizing SPC, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Collaborate with quality, engineering, and metallurgical teams to improve product quality and process capability.
• Maintain NDT records, certifications, calibrations, maintenance documentation, and compliance reports.
• Evaluate external laboratory certifications and approve third-party testing documentation.
• Spend significant time on the manufacturing floor supporting technicians and resolving production-related NDT challenges.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or related technical field plus 7+ years of NDT experience; OR equivalent combination of education and 10+ years of NDT experience.
• Current or previous qualification/certification as NDT Level III in Ultrasonic Testing (UT) in accordance with SNT-TC-1A, NAS 410, or equivalent standards.
• Deep understanding of NDT program administration and certification management.
• Experience with customer specifications, aerospace quality standards, and audit compliance activities.
• Strong knowledge of:
• Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
• Eddy Current Testing (ET)
• Corrective Action Systems
• Statistical Process Control (SPC)
• NDT equipment qualification and calibration
• Experience supporting aerospace, specialty metals, defense, industrial manufacturing, or highly regulated production environments.
• Ability to lead training programs and mentor NDT personnel.
• Excellent communication and technical documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Level III certifications in additional NDT methods (ET, PT, MT, RT, etc.).
• AS9100 experience.
• Aerospace materials manufacturing experience.
• Experience implementing new NDT technologies and automation solutions.Background in specialty metals, forgings, castings, bar products, or aerospace materials.
