Job summary

Dormont Manufacturing Co is seeking a Senior Engineer to join the MEP team for a project located in Manassas, Virginia. This full-time, in-person position requires at least 5 years of experience in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing preconstruction.

You will be responsible for communicating with various stakeholders, procuring necessary equipment and contracts, as well as assisting with cost estimates. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing preconstruction experience.
• Ability to read and understand electrical, HVAC, plumbing, architectural, and civil plans.
• Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures of MEP systems.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with vendors, design engineers, clients, and subcontractors.
• Procure electrical and mechanical subcontracts and equipment.
• Coordinate equipment submittals and assist with overall construction cost estimates.
• Support commercial projects, ensuring effective execution.

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Engineer to join our MEP team on our project in Manassas, VA. This is a full-time, in-person position.

Key Responsibilities

• Communicate with electrical and mechanical equipment vendors, design engineers, clients, and subcontractors.
• Procure electrical and mechanical subcontracts and equipment, managing contracts and deliverables from bid solicitation through contract award.
• Coordinate equipment submittals and assist with electrical, mechanical, and overall construction cost estimates.
• Support commercial projects within core markets, ensuring effective coordination and execution.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, construction management, relevant field, or relevant experience.
• 5+ years of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing preconstruction experience.
• Ability to read and understand electrical, HVAC, plumbing, architectural, and civil plans and specifications.
• Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures of MEP systems and equipment.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to identify and resolve issues.
• Effective participation in a team environment.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks.
