Job summary

Holder Construction is seeking a Senior Engineer to join our MEP team on a project in Shippingport, PA. This is a full-time, in-person role focused on coordinating electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems, and ensuring design intent aligns with field construction.

You will read and interpret plans, prepare cost estimates, procure subcontracts and equipment, and collaborate with vendors, engineers, and clients to drive projects to a successful close.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field or construction management.
• 5+ years of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing preconstruction experience.
• Ability to read electrical, HVAC, plumbing, architectural, and civil plans and specs.
• Familiarity with MEP systems and equipment concepts and practices.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with electrical and mechanical equipment vendors, design engineers, clients, and subcontractors.
• Procure electrical and mechanical subcontracts and equipment, managing contracts and deliverables from bid solicitation through contract award.
• Coordinate equipment submittals and assist with electrical, mechanical, and overall construction cost estimates.
• Support commercial projects within core markets, ensuring effective coordination and execution.

• Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures of MEP systems and equipment.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to identify and resolve issues.

• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks.
