Job summary

CSEngineering is seeking a Top-Level Deck Mariner Subject Matter Expert to support a federal maritime training course approval mission. This Key Personnel position evaluates deck-focused curricula, training sites, and instructors against regulatory standards and agency guidance.

Responsibilities include evaluating course requests against 46 CFR Parts 10–12, applying NVIC guidance, drafting technical responses for government review, and maintaining a minimum 20 course approvals per month.

Qualifications

• MMC endorsement for Master of Unlimited Tonnage on Oceans or Chief Mate Unlimited Tonnage on Oceans.
• Minimum 5 years of sailing experience on the qualifying credential.
• Experience developing or writing maritime training courses is preferred but not required.
• Strong oral and written communication skills in English.

• Maintain current knowledge of applicable maritime laws, regulations, policies, and agency procedures.
