Job summary

INNIO Group in Houston, TX seeks a Senior Controls Engineer to lead development and validation of engine controls hardware and software. You will work with customers, engineering, Service, and global teams to resolve challenges and advance controls technology.

Role requires 60% travel to customer sites, some international travel, and hands-on work with engines in various environments. Strong leadership and project-management skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, or related field.
• Experience developing and validating control systems for engines, heavy machinery, or energy industries.
• Proficiency with MATLAB, Simulink, GitHub, or Azure DevOps.
• Demonstrated project management capability across complex validation activities.
• Willingness to travel ~60% to customer/project sites, including rural locations; some international travel.

Responsibilities

• Plan, lead, and execute engine controls development, validation, commissioning, and troubleshooting at customer sites.
• Analyze and resolve technical challenges for internal and external stakeholders.
• Define, execute, and monitor project work packages and validation activities with timelines.
• Lead product and technology improvements and support IP creation.
• Provide technical expertise and training to Service organization and collaborate with teams.
• Serve as a technical liaison between USA and Europe development teams.
• Improve project efficiency through robust engineering methods and reduce handoffs.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
