Programmers.io in Houston, TX seeks a Senior Business Analyst – Energy Trading & Risk (ZEMA) to support trading, risk management, and market data initiatives in a fast-paced commodities environment.

The ideal candidate has deep ZEMA expertise, oil & gas market data experience, forward curve construction, and strong ETRM/CTRM process knowledge. This role bridges business and tech teams and drives data governance and reporting accuracy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, CS, IS, or related field.
• 10+ years of Business Analysis experience with 5+ years in Energy Trading, Commodity Risk, or ETRM environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with ZEMA Analyzer (ZE PowerGroup).
• Deep understanding of physical and financial commodity trading lifecycles.
• 5+ years of oil & gas pricing, market data management, and forward curve construction.
• Advanced Excel, Power Query, Pivot Tables, lookups and data validation.

Responsabilités

• Act as bridge between traders, risk managers, schedulers, finance and operations.
• Translate trading and risk workflows into detailed functional specs and user stories.
• Configure and maintain ZEMA Analyzer reports, dashboards, profiles, data views and curves.
• Develop documentation and provide end-user training on ZEMA processes.
• Support P&L, MTM, VaR, exposure analysis and risk controls.
• Lead UAT, test plans, and assist production go-lives.
