Job summary

Emergent Professional Resources L.P. (EPR) seeks a Senior Business Systems Analyst with oil and gas industry experience and working knowledge of energy trading and risk management (ETRM) systems.

You will translate business needs into technical requirements and support trading system enhancements across stakeholders. You will collaborate with trading, scheduling, operations, risk, finance, and technology teams to optimize processes, enable integrations, and deliver effective trading solutions

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business, Finance, Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience
• 7+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst in an enterprise environment
• Oil and gas industry experience, preferably supporting trading, midstream, downstream, supply, logistics, or related energy operations
• Working knowledge of energy trading and risk management systems such as ION RightAngle or Openlink Endur
• Understanding of energy trading processes and interactions between trading, operations, scheduling, risk, and finance
• Experience supporting system enhancements, integrations, testing, and implementation activities

Responsibilities

• Partner with business stakeholders across trading, scheduling, operations, risk management, accounting, and finance to understand needs and system requirements
• Gather, analyze, document, and validate requirements for trading system enhancements and related technology initiatives
• Apply working knowledge of energy trading workflows and ETRM platforms to support analysis and solution delivery
• Analyze existing trading and operational processes to identify system gaps, inefficiencies, and automation opportunities
• Translate business requirements into functional specifications, user stories, process flows, use cases, and acceptance criteria
• Collaborate with developers, application support teams, system configurators, architects, and third-party vendors to design and implement solutions
• Support system configuration, enhancements, interfaces, data flows, and integrations with upstream and downstream applications

Our oil & gas client is seeking a Senior Business Systems Analyst with oil and gas industry experience and working knowledge of energy trading and risk management (ETRM) systems. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of business processes, systems analysis, and requirements management, along with exposure to trading platforms such as ION RightAngle or Openlink Endur. This individual will work closely with business stakeholders across trading, scheduling, operations, risk, finance, and technology to support system enhancements, process optimization, integrations, and business-critical initiatives. The candidate must be able to understand business workflows, translate functional needs into technical requirements, and support the delivery of effective trading system solutions.

• Required oil and gas industry experience, preferably supporting trading, midstream, downstream, supply, logistics, or related energy operations.
• Working knowledge of at least one energy trading and risk management system, such as ION RightAngle or Openlink Endur.
• Understanding of energy trading business processes and the interactions between trading, operations, scheduling, risk, and finance.
• Experience supporting system enhancements, integrations, testing, and implementation activities.
