Job summary
Honeywell Technologies seeks an Energy Systems Electrical Engineer to be the SME for the UMD NextGen Energy Program. The role focuses on electrical, instrumentation, and control systems for the campus energy operations, requiring strict onsite presence at College Park and dedicated to the NextGen Program.
The candidate will lead design and operation of medium voltage distribution, power generation, and industrial controls, with proficiency in SKM Power*Tools and real-time SCADA/DCS data analysis
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering with professional licensure preferred.
- PE license in Maryland or reciprocity ability is required.
- 10+ years in electrical equipment/systems design, analysis, and operation including medium voltage (≥13.8 kV).
- Experience with SKM Power*Tools modeling for short circuit, coordination, and arc flash studies.
- On-campus presence at UMD five days a week with after-hours availability for emergencies.
Responsibilities
- Serve as SME for electrical, instrumentation, and control components of UMD Energy Systems.
- Analyze and operate medium voltage distribution, generation, and industrial instrumentation systems.
- Perform power systems studies and load flow analyses; model with SKM PTW.
