Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a self-starter to join the AWS Energy team in pioneering the future for data center utility power by developing and executing the strategy by which AWS delivers energy projects and partners with electric utilities and energy companies across the Americas.

This role will manage multiple, large-scale energy projects across geographies, coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, and lead negotiations with utilities, EPCs and Owner’s Engineers to ensure

Qualifications

• 3+ years of power transaction or contracting experience in US energy markets (preference for ERCOT, SPP & MISO).
• Experience performing financial models and analysis on rates and energy cost.
• Experience negotiating interconnection agreements and related contracts with utilities and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and execution of a comprehensive utilities strategy for AWS data centers for AMER regions.
• Manage multiple Utilities, EPC and Owner's Engineers to deliver MV and HV power infrastructure, including negotiations and contracting.
• Develop and execute energy strategies that leverage capital projects to reduce long term energy costs. Manage capital budgets for electrical infrastructure and energy projects.
• Work collaboratively with Amazon CFE/RE team to support the development of strategic energy sourcing opportunities
• Execute electricity supply contracts that create new clean energy capacity on the grid, reduce cost, minimize risk and leverage opportunities that benefit Amazon
• Manage a portfolio of complex energy projects
• Collaborate with internal teams and regulated utilities on the implementation and management of energy projects to meet the business timelines.
• Identify and develop innovative cost savings projects related to energy infrastructure and supply.
• Responsible for completing due diligence on in-market opportunities and developing those into cost savings for the business.
