Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. seeks a strategic energy leader to drive the end-to-end power strategy for AWS data centers across the Americas.

You will manage utilities, EPCs, and engineers to execute large-scale HV infrastructure projects, optimize energy costs, and coordinate with regulators and internal teams to align with AWS energy goals. The role requires strong experience in power contracting and energy markets, with a track record of delivering complex energy projects on time and within

Qualifications

• 3+ years of power transaction or contracting experience in US energy markets, with experience modeling rates and costs.
• Experience negotiating interconnection agreements and related contracts with utilities/contractors.
• Experience planning, engineering or constructing substations or other high voltage energy infrastructure.
• Experience with IT infrastructure, data centers and cloud services is a plus.
• Experience working with public utility commissions or energy regulators is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and execution of a comprehensive utilities strategy for AWS data centers in AMER regions.
• Manage multiple Utilities, EPC and Owner's Engineers to deliver MV and HV power infrastructure; include negotiations and contracting.
• Develop and execute energy strategies to reduce long-term energy costs and manage budgets.
• Collaborate with internal teams to support strategic energy sourcing opportunities.
• Execute electricity supply contracts to create new clean energy capacity on the grid and reduce costs.
• Manage a portfolio of complex energy projects and timelines.
• Coordinate with regulatory bodies to enable AWS strategies and guidelines.
• Identify cost-saving initiatives related to energy infrastructure and supply.
• Report status, risks, and successes to senior leadership.
