Job summary

Redwood Materials is seeking a Manufacturing Test Infrastructure Lead to guide a growing team responsible for validation of energy storage products. You’ll lead cross-disciplinary efforts across mechanical, electrical, and software engineering to design, bring up, and qualify testers for PCBA and complex assemblies.

You will shape test strategy, drive improvements in test coverage, and partner with manufacturing and suppliers to ensure robust, scalable test platforms for high-volume production.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • 2+ years of people management experience.
  • Comfortable with industrial automation, PLC, and test automation.
  • Familiarity with design-for-manufacturing and design-for-test best practices.
  • Ability to read, create, and review electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Experience with high-voltage systems (400–2000VDC and 480-800VAC).
  • Strong hands-on debugging skills across mechanical, electrical, and software domains.

Responsibilities

  • Lead/support design, bring-up, and validation of PCBA and TLA/EOL functional testers.
  • Coordinate timelines, budgets, and company priorities across stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with system integrators, contract manufacturers, and equipment vendors to implement and qualify test stations.
  • Lead/support debug of manufacturing test failures, working cross-functionally to resolve issues.
  • Drive continuous improvement of test processes, including coverage expansion, cycle-time reduction, and data quality.
  • Ensure manufacturing test readiness for new product introduction, including test specs, validation plans, GR&R studies, station acceptance, and product release criteria.
  • Help establish scalable standards and best practices for the team.
