Candidates should have 5+ years in energy settlements, CPA credentials preferred, and strong Excel/SQL skills. Power BI and ERP (NetSuite/SAP) exposure are advantageous in a SOX-controlled environment.

Qualifications

• > Bachelor's degree in accounting or a closely related field with a substantive accounting concentration.
• > Five or more years of progressive experience in energy settlements, including hands-on responsibility for ISO market settlements.
• > Demonstrated experience settling long-term power purchase agreements, including reading contract language and independently building required calculations.
• > Working knowledge of ISO market design, tariff structure, and settlement timelines, including dispute and recalculation processes.
• > Strong revenue accounting foundation, including accruals, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close discipline.
• > Advanced Excel skills, including large-dataset work, complex formulas, and pivot-based analysis.
• > SQL proficiency sufficient to query, join, and validate settlement and market data independently.
• > Certifications such as CPA preferred; experience in SOX environment and external audit support.
• > Experience with Power BI or similar BI tools; exposure to ISO/RTO markets (CAISO, ERCOT, WECC).
• > Familiarity with energy accounting platforms and ERP integration (NetSuite or SAP).
• > Exposure to renewable energy credits and environmental attribute tracking.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly ISO settlement cycle for energy assets and validate all statements.
• Reconcile charge codes, meter data, scheduling invoices, and related accruals.
• Prepare and issue customer invoices; review counterparty invoices and track receivables/payables.
• Investigate variances and drive resolution; document disputes with ISO and counterparties.
• Provide settlement insights to Commercial, Operations, and Finance; maintain controls per SOX.
• Build dashboards for settlement and market data analysis; mentor analysts joining the team.
