Job summary

Fervo Energy is seeking a Senior Settlement Analyst to own the end-to-end ISO settlement cycle for our generation assets, from settlement statements through invoicing and revenue recognition. You will reconcile charge codes and meter data, resolve discrepancies with counterparties and the ISO, and support month-end close and audits.

This high-visibility role sits on a small team, collaborating with Commercial, Operations, Accounting, and Legal.

Qualifications

• Five or more years in energy settlements, with ISO market settlements experience.
• Experience settling long-term power purchase agreements.
• Strong revenue accounting fundamentals: accruals, journal entries, reconciliations.
• Advanced Excel with large datasets and pivot analysis.
• SQL proficiency to query settlement data.
• Ability to explain complex settlements in writing and speech.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly ISO settlement cycle for Fervo's generating assets—validate initial, recalculation, and final settlement statements; reconcile charge codes, meter and telemetry data, and scheduling coordinator invoices; and confirm energy, ancillary services, congestion, and uplift charges are correct.
• Calculate and validate settlements under long-term power purchase agreements and related commercial contracts; interpret contract terms and translate into accurate monthly invoices and accruals.
• Prepare and issue customer invoices, review counterparty invoices and statements, track receivables and payables through to cash, and investigate variances.
• Identify, document, and pursue settlement disputes with the ISO, scheduling coordinators, and counterparties within timelines; maintain dispute records.
• Deliver settlement-based revenue accruals, journal entries, and reconciliations on the close calendar; explain month-over-month variances with workpapers.
• Maintain settlement controls in line with SOX; serve as primary contact for external auditors and control testing; help design controls as the company scales.
• Build queries, models, and dashboards turning settlement and market data into usable analysis; replace manual steps with repeatable processes.
• Provide settlement insight to Commercial, Operations, and Finance; analyze revenue drivers, curtailment, congestion, and forecast-versus-actual variance.
• Document settlement procedures and act as a knowledge resource for analysts joining the team.
