Job summary

Whitley Penn in Houston seeks a Senior Revenue Accountant to join our Energy Accounting & Consulting team. You will plan and execute client engagements, supervise associates, and communicate with clients, while ensuring compliance with GAAP and professional standards.

The role requires 3–5 years in energy accounting, Upstream/E&P experience, a BA/MBA in accounting or financial management, and CPA or CPA eligibility preferred.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in Energy accounting and analysis.
• Oil & Gas Accounting knowledge Upstream/E&P experience.
• BA or Master’s in accounting or financial management.
• CPA or CPA eligibility preferred.
• Proficiency in Excel and O&G accounting software.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute client engagements and supervise associates.
• Review monthly, quarterly, and yearly accounting cycles and prepare financial statements.
• Reconcile accounts receivable balances from revenue bookings.
• Record oil, gas, and NGL sales for operated entities.
• Prepare revenue allocations and tax reports (severance, ONRR, royalties).
• Mentor staff and communicate with clients and operations teams.
