Job summary

ERCOT seeks an experienced Senior Regulatory Counsel to join its regulatory team, handling state and federal regulatory matters impacting the Texas electric power industry. You will advise on rules, standards, and legislation affecting ERCOT, and represent the company in regulatory proceedings as needed.

On-site in Austin, TX at least two days per week with flexible scheduling; remote work from a Texas residence is also available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (any discipline) required.
• Juris Doctorate (required).
• Admitted to practice before the State Bar of Texas (required).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with ERCOT subject matter experts to assess impacts of regulatory changes on ERCOT, grid operations and market.
• Develop and submit comments on proposed rules, standards and legislation.
• Advise ERCOT employees on the impact of rules and legislation.
• Develop and revise ERCOT Protocols and operating guides to implement policy and regulation.
• Represent ERCOT in contested proceedings before PUCT or FERC as needed.
• Provide summaries of important regulatory developments for executives and stakeholders.
