State of South Carolina’s Office of Regulatory Staff seeks a regulatory energy planning professional to perform oversight of electric and natural gas utilities. The role includes developing energy assessments, aligning IRPs with state policy, and presenting findings to the PSC and stakeholders.

Primary duties involve coordinating with utilities, consultants, and regulators, with in-office work at Columbia, SC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; emphasis on analysis of utility regulation and finances.
• At least three years of professional experience in analysis, operations, or regulation of electric/natural gas utilities.
• Knowledge of utility operations and regulatory frameworks.
• Ability to research and apply technical data.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsabilités

• Coordinate and prepare a comprehensive energy assessment and ten-year action plan under S.C. Code Ann. § 58-4-150.
• Collaborate with electrical utilities and state authorities to aggregate and analyze IRPs for a statewide view.
• Present findings and recommendations in PSC hearings; testify when required.
• Review long-range IRPs and analyze capacity and production cost models.
• Serve as a liaison, providing information to the public and stakeholders on utility regulation.
