The Department of Public Service in New York seeks a Policy Analyst 2 (Energy) to support the Transportation and Grid Modernization Unit within the Clean Energy and Markets Section. The role focuses on DER and DR program development and CLCPA implementation, including DLM programs, Grid of the Future, and related tariff policy.

Under supervision, you will analyze policies, prepare detailed reports, present at meetings or hearings, and provide technical direction to staff.

Formación

• One year as Policy Analyst 1 (Energy) or seven years in energy policy analysis.
• Substitutions: associate degree = 2 years, bachelor = 4 years, master = 5 years, JD = 6 years, PhD = 7 years.
• Policy Analyst 2 will support the Transportation and Grid Modernization Unit in the Clean Energy and Markets section.
• Perform duties with increased autonomy and provide technical direction.
• Analyze policies and programs and develop standards and procedures.
• Present and/or testify at seminars, conferences, meetings, and proceedings.
• Review and mentor lower-level staff and ensure QA of work.

Responsabilidades

• Performing all duties of Policy Analyst 1 (Energy) with greater autonomy.
• Utilizing expertise to handle complex energy policy and program development tasks.
• Preparing detailed reports with analyses and interpretations and recommending actions.
• Analyzing policies and programs and developing standards and procedures.
• Presenting and/or testifying at seminars, conferences, meetings, and proceedings.
• Providing technical direction and quality assurance for lower-level staff.
• Participating in utility rate proceedings and developing positions on issues.
