Job summary

BCG Attorney Search in Madison, WI, seeks a senior associate attorney for its Environment, Energy & Resources practice to lead complex energy infrastructure transactions and regulatory matters.

The role requires 6+ years of energy law, admission to practice, and a track record of handling major filings. You will mentor juniors, advise on FERC matters, and contribute to renewable energy procurement thought leadership.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in energy law.
• Proven ability to manage complex transactions and regulatory filings independently.
• Deep knowledge of the Federal Power Act and wholesale power markets.
• Collaborative self-starter with strong teamwork.
• Must be admitted to practice in the jurisdiction of the office.
• Education: JD from an accredited law school.

Responsibilities

• Lead data center power transactions, drafting and negotiating power purchase agreements and interconnection arrangements.
• Provide strategic advice on electric market design issues within RTOs/ISOs, focusing on capacity market mechanisms and interconnection policies.
• Represent clients in proceedings before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and advise on compliance with market-based rate programs.
• Counsel clients on emerging energy policy, renewable energy integration, and carbon‑free energy procurement strategies.
• Participate in client relationship management and contribute to thought leadership in digital and energy infrastructure.
• Mentor associates within the practice group, ensuring excellence in work product and professional development.
