Job summary

Kimmel & Associates seeks a Senior Energy Engineer to lead the design and implementation of energy conservation and efficiency projects for large facilities. This role blends deep technical expertise with project leadership and client engagement.

The successful candidate will mentor junior staff and collaborate with cross-functional teams, while traveling up to 30% to project sites. Remote workers must report to the Cleveland area headquarters weekly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
• Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in energy engineering.
• Expertise in HVAC systems, BAS, renewable energy, or central plant design.
• Experience with energy audits, utility analysis, and energy savings calculations.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Strong project leadership and collaboration abilities.
• Must reside within approximately a 2–3-hour radius of Cleveland, Ohio, or be willing to relocate to the Cleveland or Columbus metropolitan area.
• U.S. Citizen and able to pass FBI background check.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of energy conservation and efficiency projects for facilities.
• Conduct comprehensive energy audits and evaluate utility consumption data.
• Develop energy savings calculations and financial analyses.
• Collaborate with sales, engineering, estimating, and project management teams.
• Present findings and recommendations to clients and stakeholders.
• Provide technical leadership and ensure project delivery.
• Mentor Energy Engineers and other team members.
• Stay current on technologies, regulations, sustainability initiatives.
• Support projects involving HVAC, BAS, lighting upgrades, renewable energy, central plant optimization.
