Job summary

NYC Department of Citywide Administrative Services seeks a Senior Energy Conservation Specialist to lead the Energy Management portfolio across city agencies, delivering efficient, offset energy projects and emissions reduction initiatives.

You will supervise a small team, coordinate with DEM and agency staff, and drive projects from planning through execution, ensuring compliance with LL97 targets and energy objectives.

Qualifications

• A baccalaureate degree in architecture or related field, or apprentice pathway with energy efficiency experience, or four years in energy generation/ conservation work.
• Two years in a construction trade with energy efficiency emphasis plus two years in energy generation/conservation work.
• Four years of energy generation or conservation experience; or education/experience equivalent to the above.
• Licensure and/or advanced degrees may substitute for experience as described.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 1–2 staff within the DEM’s Operations Unit to meet energy and emissions reduction targets.
• Plan portfolio-level energy projects across agency portfolios and LL97 targets.
• Evaluate agency progress on LL97 targets and adjust strategy as needed.
• Supervise project managers and analysts to ensure timely, quality project delivery.
