Qualifications

  • A bachelor degree from an accredited college or university in architecture or architectural technology; biology; building science; chemistry; construction management; energy management; engineering, engineering technology; environmental science; facilities management; physics; or a related field.
  • Alternative: two years of construction trade apprenticeship focused on energy efficiency plus two years in energy generation or conservation work.
  • Four years of full-time experience in energy generation or conservation work.
  • Education/experience equivalent to the above; credits for undergraduate coursework or master's degree may apply.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with agency energy team members to identify potential energy efficiency and clean energy project opportunities at HRA facilities.
  • Assess facilities to develop recommendations for building optimization and energy efficiency; perform feasibility studies including cost estimates and life-cycle cost analysis.
  • Conduct detailed site surveys of existing building systems related to MEP and sprinkler works at HRA facilities.
  • Prepare sketches, design drawings, and construction documents; review drawings, calculations, layouts, or specifications.
  • Trend equipment data using databases and monitoring tools; develop energy-efficient O&M plans and retro-commissioning recommendations.
  • Lead energy efficiency projects from kick-off to close-out, including timelines, budgets, vendor supervision, and punch lists.
  • Review third-party energy audits and verify estimated savings and emissions reductions.
  • Provide RCx project oversight with field verifications and documentation.
  • Coordinate with facility operators to monitor demand response events and ensure readiness.
