Job summary

Walker-Miller Energy Services seeks an experienced Portfolio Manager to lead large-scale energy efficiency programs and serve as the primary client relationship lead. You will drive strategic direction, coordinating across functional teams to meet contractual, financial, and customer-experience goals.

The role requires strong leadership, exceptional communication, and a proven ability to manage budgets and complex programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in business, engineering or other discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in managing energy efficiency programs.
• Minimum of 5 years management/supervisory experience including hiring, coaching, performance reviews and mentoring.
• Develop, monitor and manage financial budgets, including forecasting revenue and expenses.
• Technical experience in developing and/or reviewing energy savings calculations to determine paybacks and incentive levels.
• Must show proven leadership in fast paced environment.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Must be detail-oriented, organized, self-starter and have an ability to prioritize workload.
• Ability to identify and resolve project application issues with customers and trade allies.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Champion and model Walker-Miller’s core values through daily leadership and stakeholder engagement.
• Partner with senior leadership to achieve program objectives, contractual commitments, financial targets, and broader organizational goals.
• Establish organizational priorities and ensure staffing, resources, and functional teams remain aligned to client expectations and portfolio objectives.
• Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, collaboration, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across all program functions.
• Serve as the primary executive point of contact for utility clients, building trusted relationships and ensuring exceptional client satisfaction.
• Lead and develop high-performing teams by establishing clear performance expectations and accountability measures.
• Provide leadership across all program functions and delivery partners to ensure coordinated execution.
• Drive continuous improvement, adoption of industry best practices to strengthen program performance.
• Maintain overall accountability for successful delivery of large-scale energy efficiency programs.
• Direct execution of implementation plans, workstream priorities, performance metrics, and forecasts across all program functions.
• Monitor program performance through dashboards and forecasting outputs; implement corrective actions as needed.
• Ensure all client deliverables, forecasts, reports, invoices, and commitments meet contractual requirements.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, accruals and financial reporting to ensure effective stewardship.
