Job summary

Xcel Energy is seeking a technically skilled engineer to advance conservation programs across its service areas. You will review complex analyses, guide product and program managers, and apply expertise to maximize customer adoption of conservation offerings.

The role requires ABET-accredited engineering credentials and 6+ years in energy conservation or related fields; a PE is preferred. The position offers a hybrid work model with strong collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree required.
• 6+ years experience in energy conservation or related field.
• Licensed Professional Engineer certification preferred.
• Experience in consulting engineering, industrial processes, technical sales and project management.

Responsibilities

• Review and validate conservation program analyses and financial models.
• Provide guidance and training to internal staff, customers and trade partners on technology issues.
• Develop and maintain technical leadership in gas or electric conservation areas (HVAC, lighting, building construction, motors, controls).
• Research new technologies and monitor energy codes affecting program guidelines and performance.
• Build relationships with engineering firms, government agencies, industry groups and research firms; support technical sales.

Education

BSME / BSEE or related engineering degree
