Ashurst Perkins Coie LLP is seeking a counsel-level attorney to lead high-stakes energy transactions and regulatory work within the Projects, Energy, Environment & Resources practice group. You will work with top partners to manage complex matters at the nexus of digital infrastructure and energy transition.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years in energy law, can handle complex transactions with minimal supervision, and holds a JD with admission to practice in the relevant jurisdiction.

Qualifikationen

• 6+ years of energy law experience.
• Ability to manage complex transactions and regulatory filings from inception to completion with minimal partner supervision.
• Deep knowledge of the Federal Power Act, wholesale power markets, and power transaction structures.
• Must be admitted to practice (or eligible to waive) in the jurisdiction of office location.

Aufgaben

• Lead Data Center Power Transactions: draft and negotiate bespoke PPA, energy service agreements, and interconnection arrangements for developers, utilities and corporate buyers.
• Market Design & RTO/ISOs: advise on complex electric market design issues within RTOs/ISOs (PJM, MISO, SPP, ERCOT, CAISO).
• FERC regulatory: represent clients before FERC and advise on compliance with market-based rate programs and related issues.
• Federal energy policy: advise on emerging energy policy, renewable integration, and carbon-free procurement strategies.
• Practice development: contribute to client relationships and thought leadership in digital/energy infrastructure.
• Mentorship: guide associates within PEER practice.
