Job summary

Shell in Houston, TX is seeking an experienced Commercial Credit Manager - Structured to lead credit structuring, underwriting, and adjudication for complex energy transactions across the Americas. You will work within Trading & Supply Credit Risk to enable growth while protecting enterprise value.

You will assess counterparty risk, develop financial models, and design mitigants in collaboration with Commercial, Trading, Finance, and Legal teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; MBA/CFA or equivalent preferred.
• 5+ years of credit risk or structured finance experience in energy trading, IB, or related sector.
• Ability to structure and execute complex structured or project-based transactions.
• Strong expertise in credit risk, market risk, and counterparty analysis.
• Advanced financial modelling with stress testing and scenario analysis.
• Deep knowledge of energy markets and trading documents (ISDA/CSA).
• Strong commercial judgment with portfolio-wide risk/value view.
• Experience in global, complex organizations and stakeholder management.
• Familiarity with PFE, ECL, Credit VaR, MTM exposure.
• Experience in energy, commodities drivers and regulatory impacts.
• Energy markets, commodity drivers, volatility, and/or regulatory impacts
• Experience in global, complex organizations with ability to influence stakeholders and manage competing priorities

Responsibilities

• Lead credit structuring and risk assessment for complex energy transactions.
• Assess counterparty risk and structure credit for transactions.
• Develop and interpret financial models to evaluate exposure and risk.
• Design and negotiate credit mitigants with CCMs.
• Partner with Commercial, Trading, Finance and Market Risk teams.
• Prepare credit recommendations for senior stakeholders.
• Monitor portfolio performance and identify emerging risks.
• Support Regional Head of Credit in managing portfolios.
• Lead credit risk advisory for physical, financial and structured financing.
• Drive change projects to improve risk management.
• Act as primary focal on credit risk management and strategy matters to key stakeholders (VPs, GM, RTLs, Desk heads) within Shell Trading and beyond
• Translate business opportunities and ensure use of right instruments to create solutions
