Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Lead Credit Officer - Vice President within the Commercial & Investment Bank Risk team in Houston. You will lead credit origination and portfolio management for non-investment grade/leveraged energy sector clients, focusing on Oil & Gas, structuring, analysis and approval of new lending, and ongoing portfolio monitoring.

You will collaborate with Investment Banking Coverage, Global Corporate Banking and Debt Capital Markets to meet client needs while adhering to credit

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 7+ years in commercial/investment banking lending with credit, structuring and marketing.
• Experience in infrastructure finance or related fields with familiarity with green technology and energy transition sectors.
• Solid understanding of financial products, corporate finance, financial modeling and market dynamics.
• Advanced knowledge of financial statements and accounting.
• Experience with documentation related to credit agreements.
• Knowledge/experience of derivative products and documentation (including ISDA and CSA).

Responsibilities

• Identify key risk factors across an assigned portfolio and develop forward-looking risk assessments.
• Lead client due diligence by attending meetings to understand client companies, management and industry sectors.
• Use financial models to assess the impact of risk on value drivers and propose credit structures.
• Apply corporate finance and accounting expertise to develop financing structures and prepare credit materials.
• Review and negotiate legal documentation to ensure terms meet credit approval.
• Ensure risk ratings reflect current risk and identify deteriorating credits early.
• Stay updated on client portfolio, industry trends, covenants, and market events.
• Assist in training analysts and coordinate with data teams for credit system data.
