Job summary

Northrop Grumman, Space Systems, seeks an Energetics Engineer (Level 2) or Principal (Level 3) to join the Process Engineering Rocket Motor Manufacturing team in Magna, Utah. This is a weekend position (Fri, Sat, Sun) with 12-hour days, typically 7am–7pm.

The role focuses on developing and improving manufacturing processes for solid rocket motors, fostering a strong safety culture, and applying Lean Six Sigma to drive continuous improvement across engineering and production teams.

Qualifications

• B.S. in STEM required with 2+ years of related experience.
• A master’s degree reduces experience requirements per level guidelines.
• Experience in solid rocket motor manufacturing or propellant handling is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve manufacturing processes for solid rocket motors and energetic products.
• Demonstrate and instill a strong safety culture in daily operations.
• Continuously improve processes using Lean Six Sigma.
• Perform RCCA investigations to eliminate defects.
• Collaborate with concurrent engineering to create Build-to-Packages.
• Prepare and present technical reviews to leadership and customers.
• Monitor production events and use SPC for process control.
• Incorporate process improvements and disseminate lessons learned.
