Job summary

ABB is seeking a highly capable engineer to drive prototyping, testing and certification for new product development and cost-out programs in Enclosed Residential products. You will coordinate with design teams, schedule builds, and liaise with 3rd party certifiers to ensure UL and global standards compliance.

You will execute test plans, analyze data, and work with cross-functional teams to meet reliability targets while identifying cost-out opportunities and maintaining certification

Qualifications

• Experience developing, documenting, and analyzing test data.
• Knowledge of certification processes and standards (UL, ANSI, CSA, IEC).
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams on NPI/cost-out projects.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with design teams to develop test programs to evaluate new products, cost out initiatives, and legacy product baselines.
• Schedule and facilitate sample builds with manufacturing, in-house prototyping, and outside vendors; assemble samples as needed.
• Act as liaison to 3rd party certifiers to co-develop test plans for certifications (UL and global certifiers).
• Develop and execute test plans to meet internal ABB requirements and reliability targets with significant sample sets.
• Coordinate and schedule testing with internal and external labs; create test requests per standards (UL67).
• Document and analyze data from tests; tear down products for measurements or root-cause analysis.
• Provide input on product designs and maintain UL files and test programs.
• Identify cost-out opportunities and lead cross-functional projects.
