Job summary

ABB Inc. in Bloomfield, CT is seeking an engineer to drive prototyping, testing and certification for Enclosed Residential products.

You will lead New Product Development test programs, support cost-out initiatives, and establish product quality baselines in collaboration with the R&D team. Responsibilities include coordinating test plans with design teams, scheduling sample builds with manufacturing and vendors, and liaising with certifiers to document UL/ANSI/CSA/IEC/ISO compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience driving prototyping, testing, and certification for NPI programs.
• Coordinate cost-out and product quality baseline initiatives.
• Collaborate with R&D teams on project execution.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate test programs to evaluate new products and legacy baselines.
• Schedule sample builds with manufacturing, prototyping teams, and vendors.
• Act as liaison to 3rd party certifiers, co-developing test plans for standards compliance (UL/ANSI/CSA/IEC/ISO).
• Develop and execute test plans to meet ABB requirements and reliability targets.
• Coordinate testing with internal and external test labs.
• Tear down products and perform root-cause analyses on failures.
• Provide input to design teams on product improvements.
• Maintain ownership of UL files and test programs.
• Ensure test methods comply with applicable standards (UL, ANSI, CSA, IEC, ISO).
• Identify cost-out opportunities within the product line.
• Lead and execute cross-functional projects.
