County of Sonoma’s Human Services Department seeks a Senior Employment and Training Specialist to manage complex caseloads and lead staff in delivering employment and training services. You will guide eligibility determinations, coordinate with counselors, and support client job readiness goals.

The role emphasizes data accuracy, program compliance, and collaboration with community partners to help families achieve self-sufficiency while navigating challenging barriers to employment.

Formación

• Strong caseload management and technical skills.
• Experience addressing homelessness, mental illness, substance abuse, poverty or other barriers to employment.
• Experience reviewing the work of others and training staff.
• Experience conducting client interviews to gather information.
• Ability to lead, train and supervise staff.
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills are desired.

Responsabilidades

• Maintaining a specialized caseload
• Providing specialized technical assistance and training to staff
• Making complex decisions independently as a lead worker and case manager
• Reading and reviewing case files for accuracy and compliance
• Working closely with counselors and partner staff in support of client progress
• Entering and retrieving data from electronic data systems and processing paperwork
• Monitoring, motivating, and assisting clients in employment-related activities
• Assuming supervisory responsibilities when the supervisor is absent
