Job summary

Serco is seeking a Senior Employment Navigator in Alaska to assist transitioning Servicemembers and spouses with career planning, resume guidance, and job matching within the DOL VETS TAP program. You will analyze skills, provide resources, and connect clients to government and non-government partners.

In-office, client-facing role with up to 10% travel. Key responsibilities include counseling, outreach, and collaboration with regional managers to promote services and ensure successful civilian

Qualifications

• High School Diploma with 5 years TAP experience or
• Bachelor’s degree with 3 years counseling experience.
• Knowledge of civilian workplace and translating military skills/language.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and virtual meeting platforms.
• Ability to work well with Military community.
• Strong coordination and communication skills.
• Experience speaking to groups and engaging audiences.
• Travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Listen to Servicemembers/spouses, analyze needs, and refine career action plans.
• Provide job search guidance and ensure access to employment resources.
• Assist with job matching of vacancies with skills and requirements.
• Provide labor market information and advise on how to apply for jobs.
• Identify credentials and close qualification gaps through credentialing.
• Assist with CRS verification and warm handovers as initial contact.
• Connect clients to DOL partners and American Job Centers.
• Provide resume/cover letter advice and information on apprenticeships.
• Support training and mentoring of Navigators and site management.
• Promote services through approved messages and outreach.
