Job summary

Blue Cross NC is seeking a Senior Counsel - Employment to deliver strategic guidance on complex employment matters, including regulatory compliance, wage and hour, and discrimination issues. You will partner with senior leadership and oversee outside counsel on litigation and policy matters.

You will lead a team within the Legal Department, provide training, support corporate transactions, and drive risk management across the organization.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• 8+ years of relevant legal experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day employment law counseling on hiring, discipline, terminations, and leaves.
• Ensure compliance with Title VII, ADA, FMLA, FLSA, ADEA, and state laws.
• Draft and update employment policies and handbooks.
• Advise on risk identification, due diligence, and corporate transactions.
• Oversee employment-related litigation and EEOC matters.
