Blue Cross NC seeks a Senior Counsel - Employment to lead strategic employment-law guidance across the organization. You will advise senior leadership, manage complex regulatory and statutory matters, oversee litigation and EEOC issues, and draft policies and handbooks.

This role supports corporate initiatives, partners with officers and subsidiaries, and drives risk management while promoting a strong compliance culture.

Qualifications

• Provide day-to-day employment law counseling across hiring, performance, discipline, terminations and leaves of absence.
• Advise on federal/state employment law mandates and regulatory compliance.
• Draft and update employment policies, handbooks, and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Lead practice area team within the Legal Department and mentor staff.
• Oversee employment-related litigation and EEOC matters.
• Represent the Company in regulatory matters and in-house counsels’ negotiations.
• Provide employment law support for corporate transactions and due diligence.
