Job summary

Bank of America is seeking a senior employment lawyer to lead a team of attorneys and paralegals, providing regular advice to internal clients and managing a docket of discrimination, retaliation, and wage-and-hour matters.

The role includes advising HR and business managers on risks, drafting employment documents, directing outside counsel, and coordinating with Compliance, Risk, Audit to address complex employment issues for a national footprint.

Qualifications

• Admitted to state bar in good standing.
• Minimum of 15 years experience at a major law firm or corporate legal department.
• Minimum 10 years knowledge of HR and employment law related matters.
• Experience presenting complex issues clearly to C-Suite Executives.
• Ability to field issues across a diverse set of legal fields.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in fast-paced, demanding environment with many stakeholders.
• Independent, self-starter capable of prioritizing conflicting demands.

Responsibilities

• Provide employment and labor legal counsel to HR, Employee Relations, and line of business managers.
• Advise on legal risks, negotiate and draft employment-related documents.
• Interpret policies and apply employment laws and regulations.
• Direct outside counsel and coordinate paralegals and other legal staff.
• Support resolution of employment-related legal matters and inquiries.
• Provide strategic advice on complex issues to internal partners.
• Direct outside counsel and supervise other Legal staff; mentor peers.
• Partner with HR, Compliance, Risk, Audit on complex employment matters.
