Job summary

Coinbase, Inc. is seeking an experienced Employment Counsel to manage a broad portfolio of people-relations matters.

You will provide first-line legal guidance on performance, accommodations and terminations while supporting global employment questions across our 20+ country footprint. You will also handle employment agreements, relocation letters, and litigation matters, working with outside counsel as needed.

Qualifications

• J.D. with active U.S. state bar membership and 5+ years of employment law experience, including in-house advising.
• Strong U.S. advisory experience across performance management, terminations, and leaves.
• Hands-on experience with employment litigation and administrative charges.
• Knowledge of U.S. HR compliance (EEO-1, OFCCP, pay equity) and AI regulatory landscape.
• Experience using AI responsibly with human oversight in HR/Legal processes.

Responsibilities

• Own a people relations counseling portfolio, providing first-line legal support on performance management, disciplinary processes, accommodations, policy questions, and exits.
• Advise on international employment matters across 20+ country footprint, partnering with outside local counsel and HR.
• Support employment agreement workflows, including offer letters and separation/relocation agreements.
• Drive compliance support for AI tools in recruiting and HR, including bias audits and disclosures.
• Partner with People team on HR compliance, pay equity, and OFCCP/EEO-1 reporting.
• Support employment litigation and administrative proceedings, including EEOC statements and discovery.
• Track employment law developments and translate into practical guidance.
