Job summary

Volunteers of America Delaware Valley is seeking a Senior Employment Specialist (CV162-1) in the Reentry Services Division to report to the Director and join the treatment team. Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Human Services and two years experience in vocational counseling and job placement.
• Experience in job placement, employability skills, career networking, and knowledge of local labor market.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients in obtaining employment by linking clients with jobs and educational/training opportunities.
• Be responsible for the development of community contacts and resources for jobs and training.
• Establish and maintain contacts with employers and other groups potentially interested in hiring clients as well as other community-based organizations promoting job development.
• Conduct career counseling and vocational assessments
• Visit all work sites
• Conduct job readiness and job retention classes.
• Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication.
